Welcome

Hello and welcome to Rhetoric 306, a course in argumentation that situates rhetoric as an art of civic discourse. It is designed to enhance your ability to analyze the various positions held in any public debate and to advocate your own position effectively. Your work in this course will help you advance the critical writing and reading skills you need to succeed in courses for your major and university degree.

Throughout the semester all the course documents you need - policies, schedules, and assignment prompts - will be posted here on our course website. I will ask you to check this site daily for new messages and reminders from me. You can begin exploring this site now if you like. Don't bother downloading any of the course documents just yet. We'll begin on Monday by looking at the course policies, grading and schedule.

I look forward to meeting all of you.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend,

Tony
